I've always been intrigued by shows like 'Cold Cases' and 'Unsolved Mysteries.' There is just something about those shows that suck you in. You want to know 'who did it?' and 'why?' So I thought I would dig up a few Cold Cases in our viewing area and do an entire series on our newscast. The cases range from unsolved murders to a teenager who went missing in 1989.
Of course to tell these stories well I had to track down family members. Like every reporter, I've made these calls a hundred times, but the outcome was different. This time several family members really stuck with me. They shared their memories, showed me pictures, and let me into a little piece of their life. They remind me why I became reporter...
It's my first attempt at producing, anchoring, and reporting a whole series...check it out! Here is a link to the series.

A sea of green!
Well, it's either dumb luck or maybe I really did learn something growing up on a farm lol. The garden has done really well this year. It's our second year planting veggies and I think everything we planted came up this year. We had a cool, dry summer which seemed to slow harvesting down but so far so good.

Wedding Mania
Let the wedding planning begin! Jason and I have set the date, booked the church, and found a reception spot. We'll be married June 05, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in my hometown of Copenhagen, NY. It's a small, one room church that dates back to the 1890's.
For the reception we found a great little restaurant that sits on Lake Ontario, "The Boathouse." It's in Sackets Harbor, a sleepy little lake town about 30 minutes away from the church. It's an indoor/outdoor restaurant so the idea is to put a tent out on their back deck to accommodate all the guests. The dance floor will be inside along with the bar and buffet for dinner. This is a quick glance from the front of the restaurant. I know we have more pictures of the inside, I just can't find them right now - I'll have to post them later.
For all you partiers out there - there is a hotel within stumbling distance of the reception. It's called the Ontario Place Hotel. It only has about 30 rooms, so the wedding party and family will get first crack at reservations. The hotel is a little older - but like I said - it's close!

More details to come!
Welcome!
Hello everyone!
I know I'm a little behind the times, but this is my first attempt at blogging. Since Jason and I live so far away from family and friends, I thought it would be a good place to share stories and pictures. I'm hoping its another way to bridge the distance - to keep us all a little closer even though we're states apart!
